The county council is conducting an open, comprehensive and thorough consultation exercise on the redevelopment of homes for older people across the county.
I cannot accept in any way that this consultation process is monstrously biased (Oxford Mail, November 11).
Philip Smith has misunderstood the reason for the consultation, which is negotiation to establish the best way forward.
Redevelopment is necessary to achieve positive benefits.
One fundamental point of the consultation process is to seek people's views on the best way to achieve the benefits that have been identified, while recognising the inevitable disruption and difficulties that redevelopment will cause.
This is why we have the second question. It is untrue that this assumes anything. It is put in the context of consultation over proposals, and is a simple and clear opportunity for people to state any concern that they may have about redevelopment.
I would urge your readers to respond to the consultation, which closes on November 27. Your views count.
