An extension to the buildings at Brightwell-cum-Sotwell Primary School, partly paid for by parents, has been officially opened.
The extension, which cost £172,000, enlarges the school's main hall to give extra space, includes a cloakroom and lavatories and also provides an undercover play area for infants.
School governor Hilary Smith said: "We received grants from various bodies for the hall extension, but it was very much a local effort raising money for the building.
"The school needed more space and this extension provides it."
A barn dance was held to thank everyone who helped with the project.
