One of Oxfordshire County Council's senior officers toured the villages of Eynsham and Standlake.
Chris Gray, the council's treasurer and director for business support, was joined by Eynsham county councillor Harry Wyatt.
They met pupils at Eynsham Community Primary School and Bartholomew School before going to Eynsham Library.
They then went to the Dix Pit recycling centre and finished at the Standlake Museum Store.
Mr Gray said: "This is one of several visits I am conducting in west Oxfordshire as part of the authority's bid to reinforce links with the communities it serves."
