South West Division 2 East: An understrength Grove side went down 38-7 at Chippenham.
Despite being badly depleted, Grove were the better side for the first 20 minutes, with elusive running from centre Richard Williams lighting up the opening exchanges.
But the visitors were unable to turn pressure into points, and Chippenham took a 12-0 lead.
Grove fly half Dean Hammett then put his side on the scoreboard with a neat chip ahead which he gathered himself to score virtually unopposed under the posts. Williams added the conversion.
Chippenham immediately hit back with a converted try to give them a 19-7 interval lead, which they increased with a dominant second-half display.
