Women's English League: Rover Oxford put in a disappointing performance to lose 2-0 at Aldridge and slip to second from bottom of Division 2.
Rover started the game brightly, spending the first 15 minutes in the Aldridge half, but shots from Vicky Mankelow and Lyn Cockshott were off target.
Aldridge gradually gained in confidence with some determined tackling and crisp passing, and after 20 minutes they got their reward with a cool finish from close range from a right-wing cross.
Rover then forced three short corners, but were unable to convert any of them.
In the second half, Aldridge scored an early breakaway goal .
Despite creating some good chances from Claire Norton's pace and a further six short corners, poor finishing denied the visitors any consolation.
