Youth matches: Oxfordshire Under 19s emerged with credit from their final series of Southern Counties Championship double-headers at St Edward's School, Oxford - despite being unable to post a victory.
They were beaten 3-2 by Sussex in their opening match before drawing 2-2 against Hampshire, who had earlier hammered Sussex 4-1.
Oxon took the lead against Sussex when Paul Hayes converted a cross.
Sussex equalised with a low drag flick at a short corner, and just before half-time they struck again.
Jules Coppes made it 2-2 in the second half with another low drag flick at a short corner, but Oxon couldn't prevent Sussex scoring a third.
Oxon also took the lead against Hampshire when Henry Cole picked the ball up in his own 25 and ran the length of the pitch before centering for Drew Vermeulen to score at the far post.
Hampshire equalised from a short corner, but from the restart Coppes hit an aerial pass which Hayes turned in for an excellent goal.
At 2-1 up, the home side were put under strong pressure, and Hants levelled before the end.
Oxon's younger sides fared less well. On the south coast in Sussex , the under 16s were beaten 7-1 by Hampshire - with Andrew Baggs scoring their goal - and 7-0 by Sussex.
Oxon Under 15s, playing in Hampshire, drew 1-1 with the host county, with Peter Hunter on target, but then lost 1-0 to Sussex.
