Didcot councillors have backed shopkeepers fighting moves to close Broadway to traffic in the town centre as part of expansion plans.
Proposals for the pedestrianisation of Broadway were published in a transport document accompanying controversial plans to build 3,200 homes on the western edge of the town, including part of neighbouring Harwell.
It was the first time the town council had considered the plans.
