Hearing dog Hughie will be spending his retirement years in Oxford after a couple from Jericho agreed to adopt him.
Hughie in his new home
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People launched a television appeal on Central News to find a suitable home for the Lurcher dog after they officially retired him in June this year.
David and Rosemary Langford were among the viewers who contacted the charity's training centre, near High Wycombe, to rehome the nine-year-old dog.
Mrs Langford said: "It's so rewarding to be able to give something back by providing a happy retirement home to a dog that has spent its life helping deaf people."
Anyone interested in rehoming a hearing dog can contact the charity on 01844 348100.
