Charles Early, grandson of the founder -- Harold Early -- of the 1st Witney Boys' Brigade Company, cut a cake to mark the brigade's centenary.
A service to mark the event was also held in the town's Methodist Church in the High Street.
During the service, Mr Early unveiled a plaque, presented by old boys from the brigade, to record thanks to all the officers, instructors and helpers who had given their time to the brigade over the years.
The celebrations also included a reunion for old boys, with films and photographs on show.
