A girl aged 10 has raised nearly £250 for breast cancer charities after watching her grandmother fight the disease.
Victoria Madden collected the money for Against Breast Cancer (ABC) and Cancer Research UK by holding a bring and buy sale at St Joseph's First School in Headley Way, Headington.
She came up with the idea after her grandmother Iris was diagnosed with the disease.
Mrs Madden, 72, is now recovering from the illness.
Victoria, of William Street, New Marston, initially decided to help ABC by making friendship bracelets for her class mates.
The fundraising progressed when her friends, Bethany Florey, Laura Hill, Poppy Stanley, Isobel Waite, Abigail Cleaton, India Armstrong-Covely, Sophie Wheeldon, and Olivia Strange asked to help.
They held the bring-and-buy sale for ABC and CRUK on November 22.
She said: "I made £4.50 from the bracelets and had a letter from ABC thanking me for my work.
"We then decided to do the bring and buy sale to raise more money. We are going to do more sales in the future.
"It was hard seeing my grandma so ill. The whole family was worried about her."
St Joseph's headteacher Bunty McCormack said: "All the girls did very well indeed. They organised everything themselves and put up posters about the sale.
"Everyone enjoyed the event and it was lovely that these children were not just thinking about themselves."
