SIR -- As the one non-pensioner on the committee of Oxford Pensioners' Club, I support continuity (Oxford Mail, November 21).
On the BBC recently, John Humphrys pointed out that pensions are now the central political issue. In England, it is called 'work and pensions'.
I have proposed a new international centre in Europe through the European Commission. The issue needs a new -- and international -- profile in my view.
In places like York and Lichfield, pensioners' clubs have a management committee and generous budget.
On current showing, Oxford will be a good place to be at the end of the world, as it is 50 or 60 years behind.
