Residents of an Oxford street say that speed humps in the street make life a misery.
They say houses in Cornwallis Road, Cowley, shake as lorries and buses go over the five humps in the street.
The residents are angry that Oxfordshire County Council has not carried out repair work to reduce the noise and vibration.
Ruth Goodwin, 52, has written every month for 18 months asking for action. She and neighbour Julie Vircavs, 40, accused the council of being "full of hot air" after failing to do the work, despite promising it would two months ago.
Assistant director for highway management Richard Dix said: "We apologise for not meeting that date but we are planning to make the humps shallower and repair the sides."
Ms Vircavs said she supported builder Ian Beesley, who dug up a hump outside his Oxford home, adding: "If I had the guts I would do the same."
