Health and safety officers and police are investigating the death of an Oxford University student in a human catapult stunt.
Kostadin Yankov, 19, a first year student at Wadham College, took part in a human catapulting event at Middlemore Water Park in Woolavington, near Bridgwater, Somerset, with members of the extreme sports club The Oxford Stunt Factory.
The Bulgarian student narrowly missed the net and suffered serious injuries.
He was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, last Sunday, but died at about 7.30pm.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said: "Police in Bridgwater have launched a full investigation with the Health and Safety Executive."
