More than 80 employees of struggling F1 racing team Arrows met officials from the Citizens' Advice Bureau to discuss their financial plight.
The 250 workers at the team's headquarters in Leafield were paid up until July 30.
Since then they have received nothing and CAB offices across the county have been flooded with inquiries about what they should do.
The sport's governing body, the FIA, has refused Arrows' application to race next season. Barbara Shaw, manager of the the West Oxfordshire Citizens' Advice Bureau in Witney, said: "Along with other CAB offices in Oxfordshire, we were receiving so many calls from worried Arrows' employees that we decided to hold a question and answer session together with Oxford Employment Rights."
She added: "They are extremely loyal to their company.
"We advise each employee to seek individual advice on his or her individual situation with regard to their contract from a CAB office or from an employment solicitor."
Employees were told originally that they were on paid leave.
Now they have received a letter informing them that they are now on unpaid leave, until either a sale is completed or the company goes into administration.
No one from Arrows was available to comment.
