Berks, Bucks & Oxon report: Adam Smith kicked 18 points as Chipping Norton won 28-8 at Phoenix in Division 1.
Chippy led 8-3 at half-time with a try by Aaron Branigan and a penalty from Smith.
Phoenix levelled matters with a try just after the break, but Smith confirmed Chippy's authority with a penalty and a brilliantly taken drop goal.
Chris Pinfold went over for a try, which was converted by Smith, who then intercepted a pass to run 50 metres and score between the posts for an easy conversion.
Oxford kept up their good run by scrambling to a 7-6 victory at home to Thatcham, thanks to a try from Walker and a conversion from Garratt.
Abingdon showed few signs of rust in their first match for three weeks as they romped to a 32-10 victory against Wheatley in Division 2.
Because of waterlogging at Lambrick Way, Abingdon switched the match to Wheatley.
Abingdon led 15-10 at half-time, with skipper Xavier Lecocq scoring a try and a penalty, and converting a try by Duncan Burnham
Further tries came from Laurence East, Steve Stratton and Lecocq, who added a conversion for a tally of 17 points.
Gosford All Blacks suffered their first league defeat, going down 34-11to Bletchley after having lock Rod Rhymes sin-binned. Their points came from two Bryan Graham penalties and a Steve Dee try.
