Car park charges across south Oxfordshire are set to rise.
The district council is pressing ahead with its policy of making users rather than council tax payers foot the bill for repairs and maintenance.
Of the 2,125 spaces the council operates, only 241 will remain free.
The moves follow districtwide consultation about how the council could increase its revenue from car parks without forcing people to park on the streets.
The council is keeping its policy of not charging for the first hour in Wallingford, Thame and Didcot and is not increasing its charges for the first two hours in Kings Road and Greys Road parks in Henley.
At other times most charges rise by 10p or 20p.
There will be no charges at Nenson Mill Stream, Chinnor High Street or Culham Lock.
But for the first time there will be fees at Hill Road, Watlington, for long stay parkers.
Robin Peirce, cabinet member for car parks, said: "We wanted as many people as possible to give us their views on how to raise additional income.
"We need to make sure the car park prices stay in line with inflation.
"It's our policy that the users of car parks pay for their repair and maintenance and the cost does not fall on the general council tax payer."
Details about the new charges can be found are on the council's website at www.southoxon.gov.uk and on town and parish noticeboards.
