I sympathise with Ian Beesley, who dug up the road hump outside his home. My house is also next to a ramp.
When I'm in bed, the earth often moves, but for all the wrong reasons. The vibrations are comparable with the Richter scale.
When the recent earth tremor occurred, I awoke feeling a distinct thump, but dismissed it as just another passing lorry.
These ramps work brilliantly for slowing cars, but are not suitable for lorries. I have had three ceilings fall down and once awoke with half the ceiling on my bed and dust in my mouth.
I am now sleeping under a broken ceiling as my insurance company refuses to pay for another repair. Still, I suppose I'm lucky as I could have been killed.
I hope the county council treats Mr Beesley leniently in the light of my comments.
