Two Oxfordshire police constables have been nominated for a prestigious new community beat officer award.
Pc Tony Hodgson, 49, has been a policeman for 18 years, and has served as a beat officer in Bicester and Banbury.
He now works at the Thames Valley force's headquarters in Kidlington.
He has brought in anti-social behaviour orders to deal with troublesome youths and also launched a shop watch scheme.
Pc Sullivan, 36, became a policeman in 1990 and has always worked in and around Bicester.
He was a patrol officer based at Bicester police station before moving to his present role as a rural officer.
Pc Sulivan's beat includes Stratton Audley, Fringford and Finmere.
He has boosted neighbourhood watch, country watch and church watch schemes and obtained sponsorship for a four-wheel drive police vehicle.
The award will be made from nine finalists by Thames Valley Chief Constable Peter Neyroud on December 9.
