A Charlbury family have been left shocked by the theft of a charity box containing money for Mencap.
For the last four or five years George Dowell and his son Steven, pictured, have decorated the outside of their house in Hughes Close before Christmas with lights and figures.

The display attracts visitors to the road, and this year they decided to collect money for the charity Mencap because Steven's brother Martin, is mentally handicapped.
Mr Dowell said: "Steven fixed a Mencap box to the garden fence with plastic ties on December 1.
"Within a couple of hours someone had cut through the ties and taken it.
"I don't think there would have been much money in it, but it's sickening someone could do this.
"I suppose now we will just have to put up a notice asking people to put donations through the letter box."
