An empty shop could be turned into offices for financial services, despite objections from Wantage Town Council.
Vale of White Horse District Council officers have recommended that planning permission is given for the work at premises -- formerly Little Bees and GC Interiors -- in Mill Street, Wantage.
Wantage councillors say it should remain as a shop.
Neighbouring store Swampy's objected on the grounds that Wantage has been neglected as a shopping centre. But planning officers say there are only three or four non-retail units in Mill Street and another would not harm the town centre.
The application will be discussed at a development control committee meeting in the Guildhall, Abingdon, at 6.30pm tonight (December 9).
