WEST Oxford Community Association mixed music and silent film when it held its second arts event of the winter season on Saturday.
Violinist Clare Hoffman plays along to the film
Magdalen College graduate Nicholas Brown was commissioned by the college to compose a film score to accompany the 1916 version of Oscar Wilde's play Lady Windermere's Fan.
The film, directed by Fred Paul, has been reissued.
The Triptych piano trio performed the work, at the West Oxford Community Centre in Botley Road.
Mr Brown, who conducted the music, said: "I spent about four weeks writing it."
The community centre intends to host regular arts events in future. See www.wombats.woca.org.uk for details.
