A man accused of raping a woman with cancer said evidence found in his bedroom had been planted.
Richard Day, of Greenmere, Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, near Wallingford, denies two counts of rape.
A forensic scientist confirmed that a condom found on Day's bed after the attack contained traces of both his and the alleged victim's DNA.
Oxford Crown Court heard on December 9 that Day told police he had put a used condom in his bedroom bin before the attack took place.
He claimed someone must have broken into his sister's Didcot house, where he was living at the time, taken the condom and used it in the attack, before returning and putting it on his bed.
Day is accused of dragging the 20-year-old woman from a Didcot house on May 18, before tying her up, raping her twice, beating her, hacking off her hair and shaving her eyebrows.
The victim has since died of cancer. The case continues.
