Banbury Cross Players' pantomime this year will be a tribute to founder-member Martin Blinkhorn, who died in June.
The players are rehearsing Cinderella -- a version written by Mr Blinkhorn -- as a tribute. It will be the group's biggest production for many years.
But there is still a role to be filled.
Co-directors June Ronson and Ann Westcott are desperately searching for a small pony to pull the coach that will take Cinders to the ball.
They said the coach would be lightweight, but added that the part would be a big commitment for the pony's owner.
They said: "The owner will have to transport the animal for nine performances -- but it will certainly give the panto the 'ah factor' and make it a winner for the kids."
Anyone who can help should call 01295 224414 or 750369.
The panto will be staged from January 23 to February 1 at The Mill Theatre, Banbury.
