Thame Utd 5, Wembley 0
Two goals from Rob Smith helped Thame United to a well-deserved win over Ryman League Division 1 North basement club Wembley at Windmill Stadium last night.
Thame went ahead in the sixth minute. Jon Gardner flicked on Tony Joyce's corner into the path of Rob Smith, who scored from close range.
At the other end, Alan Foster had to be alert to tip over an effort from Michael Barima.
In the 46th minute, Thame extended their lead with Smith's second of the night. Two minutes later Gardner made it 3-0, from Mark Jones's pass after Alan Foster's long clearance put him in the clear.
United went further ahead in the 66th minute when Dave Thornton played in Jemaine Ferreira, who finished with ease.
Smith had the chance to secure his hat-trick on 82 minutes after a Wembley player handled in the area, but he blazed the spot-kick wide.
United made it 5-0 in the 85th minute, with Jones's inviting cross headed in to the top corner by Silvestri.
