Tonbridge Angels 2, Banbury Utd 2
Banbury United increased their unbeaten Dr Martens Eastern Division run to 15 games, coming back from two goals down to snatch an injury-time equaliser at Tonbridge last night.
It beat their previous Southern League undefeated record of 14 games set in the 1973-74 season.
Banbury controlled the game for long periods, with Jimmy Simpson in inspired form throughout the game.
Tonbridge went ahead against the run of play through veteran striker Steve Portway.
Banbury piled on the pressure again after the break, only to go further behind in the 54th minute to Nick Barnes's brilliant 25-yard drive.
The visitors pulled a goal back in the 72nd minute when Wayne Blossom was brought down in the area, and Ady Fuller scored from the spot.
United piled everyone forward for the last 20 minutes and were rewarded in injury time when a Simpson cross was flicked on by Wallbridge, and Angels captain Peter Overton chested the ball into his own net.
Banbury: Tricker, Fuller, Blossom, Sullivan, Wallbridge, Simpson, Corbett, Stanbridge, Sylla, Redknap, O'Neill (Travers 65). Subs not used: Essex, Brock.
Attendance: 193.
