An inquest into the death of 12-year-old Nathan Monaghan, who went missing after falling into the River Thames last month, was opened and adjourned on December 13.
Oxfordshire coroner Nicholas Gardiner heard that Nathan, of MacKenzie Avenue, Milton Heights, near Abingdon, went missing on November 9, while out fishing near the weir at Sutton Courtenay.
His body was found about two-and-a-half miles downstream, near Long Wittenham, on December 10.
Coroner's officer Nigel Guile said that identification was confirmed at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
