Striker Wayne Cort could make a shock return for Thame United - just months after he switched to Ryman League Division 1 North rivals Arlesey Town.
Thame boss Andy Sinnott had to release Cort from his contract in the summer during a cost-cutting exercise at Windmill Stadium.
But he could be back next week, after Sinnott put in a seven-day approach for the big striker, who is unhappy at his new club.
Sinnott said: "Wayne phoned me on Tuesday to tell me he was cheesed off at Arlesey and wanted to come back to Thame."
"He's a proven goalscorer. He's got 12 this season and he would create competition among our strikers."
Meanwhile, Thame aim for a Ryman League Division 1 North double over Tilbury on Saturday (Dec 14), having beaten the Essex side at Windmill Stadium.
Mark West (hamstring) is doubtful.
