RAF women have raised £300 while in training for a world record netball marathon.
The squad
The Brize Norton netball squad held a 24-hour non-stop match, to raise funds for the Support for the Newborn and Their Parents (SNAP) organisation, which is based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
The session is part of their preparations for breaking the record for the longest continuous netball match.
Their target is 54 hours of non-stop play, recorded by a team in Sussex.
The squad divided into black and green teams and at the end of 24 hours they had played 361 black games and 358 green. Senior aircraftsman Katie Burgess, the event organiser and Brize netball team captain, hoped the team would attempt the world record early next year.
She said: "The girls gave it 110 per cent effort, rising to every challenge.
"I'm quite confident that we will now make an attempt on the world record for non-stop play."
