Peter Johnson, managing director of Dascem Europe, released 300 balloons from at site in Thame to remind users of halon gas that they must replace their fire-suppression systems with an alternative gas, because of EC legislation.
The finder of the balloon which has travelled furthest by December 31 will win £25 and the customer named on the card wins Champagne worth £250. He said: "Dascem offers the most environmentally friendly way of disposing of halon. This was part of our campaign to spread the message that halon is being banned."
