Five teenagers were bailed after being arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in Didcot town centre.
The arrests came after a meeting last week between Insp Chris Parker, town councillors and officials after a spate of antisocial behaviour, including damage to cars and telephone kiosks and disturbances in and around the Civic Hall.
On Saturday, December 7, teenagers tried to gatecrash a dinner-dance organised by the North Berks Motorcycle Club. Organisers and hall staff complained police failed to respond immediately to 999 calls to deal with the disturbance.
Police emphasised their determination to stamp out the problem -- and pledged to look at options including high-visibility and plain-clothed patrols.
A Thames Valley spokesman said action against offenders could include issuing Acceptable Behaviour Contracts and Anti-Social Behaviour Orders. Town council leader Mike McNulty said members would also consider measures to deal with the problem.
The three youths and two girls were released on bail and are due to return to Abingdon police station on December 30.
