Tilbury 1, Thame Utd 6: A brace apiece from Enzo Silvestri and Jemaine Ferreira helped a rampant Thame United beat a Tilbury side sitting five places above them in Ryman Division 1 North, by a convincing 6-1 on Saturday.
In one of their most exhilarating performances of the season, Thame, who scored five goals in midweek, bossed the opening minutes against a more experienced and physical home side.
The visitors were unlucky not to score when Mark Jones's free kick shaved the crossbar, before Jon Gardner put them ahead on 14 minutes after Rob Smith flicked on Tony Joyce's free kick.
Five minutes later, the lead was doubled after Dave Thornton's great cross was volleyed home by Mark Avery.
Avery then turned villain on 23 minutes when he gave away a penalty, Louie Evans scoring from the spot.
Thame suffered a blow when the impressive Rob Smith limped off, followed by the injured Joyce.
However, the two substitutes, Ben Freeman and Enzo Silvestri, wasted little time in getting involved in the game and it was the latter who re-established their two-goal lead just before half-time, netting after Avery nodded on Jones's corner.
Ferriera twice went close in the opening minute of the second half, before he finished a fine move involving Gardner and Silvestri on 55 minutes.
Thame were in total command, with Silvestri and Ferreira both netting a second to earn Thame their first double of the season.
Thame: Foster, Abassi, Joyce (Silvestri), Saulsbury, Williams, Smith (Freeman), Avery, Ferreira (West), Gardner, Jones, Thornton.
