The Duchess of Kent has been given approval by South Oxfordshire District Council for extensions and changes to the house she has recently bought in Brightwell Baldwin, near Wallingford.
Listed Forge Cottage was bought earlier this year by the reclusive Duchess, who has been gradually dropping her royal links.
The application was made under the name of Mr and Mrs Kent.
Permission has been granted for a two-story extension at the back of the property.
The council has also permitted internal and external alterations.
Villagers say they will welcome her when she moves in, but respect her need for privacy.
