A refugee support group has condemned Government proposals to put a proposed asylum seekers' accommodation centre within earshot of a rifle range and training area.
The public inquiry into plans to build a 750-person asylum seekers' centre on MoD land, near Bicester, heard that the centre would be next to a rifle range where soldiers use blank ammunition.
Bicester Refugee Support and Asylum Welcome said that contravened Red Cross guidelines for accommodation centres.
Sharon Rustemier, of Bicester Refugee Support, said: "It is inhumane.
"At the very least it shows a total disregard for the feelings and experiences of asylum seekers."
