Shelley Arms A pulled off a thrilling 5-4 victory in their Greene King ODDA Section 2 clash with rivals Crown & Thistle after a 3-0 pairs success saw them crown an excellent fightback.
A fine win from Simon Powell over Paul Weller gave them a 1-0 lead, but the Thistle stormed back to take a commanding 4-1 lead, with wins from John Merritt, Paul Quarterman, Chris Pollard and Gary Roberts.
The Shelley pulled one back when Mick Juste beat Caira, then a remarkable 3-0 pairs win ensured a memorable victory.
Railway Social Club B started their game at Cowley Workers Club B in good style when wins from Roger Cotterell, White and Nick Nash gave them a 3-0 lead.
Des Slezak beat Bob Ward to narrow the gap to 3-1, but Andy Douglas beat Buckland to restore the Railway's lead to 4-1.
The Workers' Simon Ambler beat Singh, making it 4-2, but the Railway made sure of the win when they won the pairs 2-1 for a 6-3 success.
George Inn hit top form when they visited Marston British Legion A, as they cruised to an 8-1 success.
Section 5's Rose Hill Community Centre won the opening game against the visiting Sutton Courtenay Football Club when Harvey beat Cook, but the visitors stormed back and wins from Madge, Pitson, Breakspear, Russell and Allen gave them a winning 5-1 lead and they increased this to 7-2 after a 2-1 pairs win.
High-flying Nelson Inn proved too strong for Section 6 rivals Quarry Gate D as they scored a thumping 7-2 success. Howard scored the Gate's only singles win when he beat Des Brackett.
