South West 1: Chinnor slipped into the relegation zone following their 15-11 defeat away to leaders Dings Crusaders.

Losing by the smallest of margins is now becoming an all-too-familiar story for Chinnor - and once again the difference was down to goalkicking.

Dings converted five of their six penalty attempts, while Chinnor missed with all four of their opportunities in the second half.

Chinnor were forced to make seven changes following late cry-offs from Darren Oxley and Paul Hennessy.

With passionate home support, the league leaders came out with all guns blazing and took the lead with an early penalty by Woodrow.

Conor Begley replied in kind for Chinnor, before Woodrow put Dings ahead with another penalty.

Playing with the slope, Chinnor's forwards, who were magnificent throughout, won the ball in midfield for Begley to slot over a well-struck drop goal.

Chinnor then allowed Dings to take a grip on the game early on in the second half with Woodrow kicking two more penalties.

The final quarter was all Chinnor and it came as no surprise when a rolling maul saw Nathan Brooks being awarded the only try of the game.

Unfortunately for Chinnor, they missed the conversion as well as three other penalty attempts which would have given them a well-merited win.

Salt was rubbed into the wound when Woodrow slotted over yet another long-range effort with the final kick of the match.

In losing their last five games, the points difference against has been just 17. A case of so near, yet so far!
