Hundreds of Little Chef roadside restaurants and Travelodge hotels, including more than a dozen sites in Oxfordshire, are under new ownership.
Compass, the world's biggest catering firm, sold the businesses for £712m to private equity business Permira.
Compass wants to concentrate on expanding its food service, vending and concession operations.
The Travelodge hotels in Wheatley, Oxford and Bicester employ about 40 staff while the ten Little Chefs in the county employ about 100 people.
It is not believed there will be any job losses. Travelodge and Little Chef had a combined turnover of £368m and contributed £105m to group profits.
