Chefs at an Oxfordshire pub are celebrating after securing a top award.
The Crown Inn in Church Enstone won the coveted rosette from the AA after expanding its restaurant.
The family pub was praised for the high quality of its food, both English and more exotic, cooked by head chef Craig Rouse, pictured, left, and second chef James Neal, right.
Mr Rouse's parents Carol and Mick bought the run-down village pub in 2000 and set about the business of turning it into a thriving pub-restaurant.
He said: "We are really pleased about the rosette.
"It's encouraging to find out that other people like what we do."
They now work front of house, supervising the bar and restaurant where three staff are employed.
Craig said:
"An anonymous eater turned up and only told us we had received the award after he had eaten and paid for his meal. I think the restaurant has been welcomed by the locals and of course I am delighted that they nominated us for the rosette.
He added that the restaurant now seats 40 and that the business is well ahead of targets which members of the family set themselves when they took over.
