Africa Charity workers from the Didcot-based Mali Development Group (MDG) will be visiting some of the third world people they are aiming to help next month.
The team works with Jeunesse et Developpement, an agency run by Malian professionals to help improve development in West Africa, as well leading initiatives to help street children in Mali's capital, Bamako.
Since it was formed last year, MDG has funded a grain mill and run an art competition for Malian children in need, using the youngsters' pictures as designs for fundraising greeting cards.
MDG members will be heading out to Mali on January 15, to get to know the Jeunesse team better, find out more about a development programme in Manankoro, in the very poor rural south of the country, and to see the work being done to help children in Bamako.
