THE launch of the Cowley Road Community Market on December 21 could be cancelled due to lack of interest.
The market, organised by Oxford City Council and the East Oxford Action Group, designed as an open-air bazaar to provide an opportunity for community organisations to sell their products and raise funds.
But ccouncillor Craig Simmons told the east Oxford area committee last night that a failure to find enough people wanting to run stalls at the site -- in Manzil Way Gardens, Cowley Road -- may force organisers to cancel the launch.
Mr Simmons said it was unclear what the final decision was.
The committee expressed concern and asked area coordinator Fergus Lapage to find out more.
