Icy conditions caught out many early drivers on December 18.
Thames Valley Police said they received reports of collisions from across the region, including two injury accidents on the northbound M40 between junction eight at Wheatley, and junction ten at Ardley.
In one accident, a mile-and-a-half south of junction nine at Wendlebury, one car ended up on the hard shoulder, facing the wrong way.
A spokesman said: "They're coming in from all over the place -- Banbury, Bicester, and Arncot.
"It's all down to people's driving combined with the prevailing weather conditions."
