South League Division 1: Rover Oxford missed the chance to go second in Division 1 when they crashed to a 3-1 defeat at Old Merchant Taylors.
It took two goals in the first 15 minutes by the home side before Rover raised their game.
James Pilinger and Danny Bleach missed chances to pull Rover level at the break after constant pressure, which did reap a reward when Mervin Poole scored at a short corner.
More chances to equalise went begging and a strong appeal for a penalty stroke was denied as OMT packed their own circle.
In goal, Rob MacDougall pulled off a stunning double save for Rover with five minutes left.
But he was helpless with only seconds to go as slack defending let OMT in for a third.
