A pensioner who was driven from her Banbury home when vandals set fire to it has been found a new place to live.
Joan McCarthy, 71, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease, was in hospital when youths torched her council house in Evenlode, on the Ruscote Estate.
Just 48 hours after being told of Miss McCarthy's plight, Banbury Homes Housing Association has rehoused her in sheltered accommodation.
Banbury Homes' sheltered housing manager Barry Pearce said: "Not only have we got the lady away from the area where she was having problems, but by providing sheltered accommodation she can be sure help will be at hand if she needs it."
