Four of the ten worst motorway congestion "pinch points" are on Britain's busiest road - the M25, according to a truckers' poll.
Worst spot for congestion was the Dartford River Crossing across the Thames on the east side of the M25.
Second in the pinch points' list was the M40-A46 junction at Warwick in the West Midlands, the findings from the Freight Transport Association showed.
FTA chief executive Richard Turner said: "We have a world-class transport and logistics industry but it is suffering major problems out on the public roads network.
"Only the Government can solve this reliability problem. No matter how well we engineer our supply chains, they will fail on a poor network."
The FTA table was based on views from its 11,000 members operating 200,000 goods vehicles.
The top ten motorway pinch points were:
1. Dartford River Crossing - Kent and Essex border on the M25
2. M40/A46 junction, Warwick
3. M4/M5 junction, Almondsbury, Bristol
4. M25/M4 junction, Heathrow, West London
5. M56/M60 junction, Northenden, Manchester
6. A14/M11 junction, Cambridge
7. M5/M6 junction, Birmingham
8. M25/M40 junction, Uxbridge, West London
9. M25/M3 junction, Virginia Water, Surrey
10. M62/M60/M602 junction, Worsley, Manchester.
