We refer to your story, Oxford United accused of stealing young players (Oxford Mail, November 19).
The comments attributed to our vice-chairman, Kenny Moore, were, on the whole, his personal views, not those of the club committee.
We have always enjoyed a good relationship with Oxford United. For several years, we have had boys moving to their teams and returning to ours without problems.
We feel that communications could be improved by keeping clubs informed of their intention to sign a boy from a boys' club and telling them if the boy is later released.
However, we have always been very pleased when any of our players have been invited to join Oxford United or any other professional club, and have taken a keen interest in their progress.
