Two issues need to be addressed over plans to develop Oseney Court old people's home site in Botley Road, Oxford - flooding and sewage.
We were told at the area committee meeting on November 27 that ground levels would have to be raised, and that the building area is larger than the existing building.
Let us not forget that this area saw some of the worst flooding to hit this city since the flood of 1947.
Can someone tell residents affected by the flooding what precautions will be put in place to safeguard our properties? If the site is to be raised, where does the displaced water go?
We have a sewage system that is unable to cope once the water table rises. If it is unable to cope now, what will it be like with another 44 properties?
There needs to be serious investment in the system as the situation can only deteriorate.
