In response to Cllr John Tanner's letter, Blair is delivering (Oxford Mail, December 12), oh, how we laughed.
Jobs - people will work if they want to, if they have self-respect and want to provide for their families, but it doesn't help them when they reach retirement.
It is easier to sit back, claim social security, housing benefit, full council tax entitlement, loans, grants for decor, etc. The workers of the country will keep paying hand over fist to support you (we apologise to genuine unemployed people).
Public services - what a joke. Just keep papering over the cracks, Tony. The emergency services' workers - doctors, nurses, police, firefighters - should all be paid properly and be tax exempt.
Tackling poverty - not in this country.
Fighting crime - police hands are tied by Blair and crew.
Winning elections - we pity any worker who puts a cross in the Labour box. Blair is only concerned about his international status.
As for Cherie Blair, it is our business what she is doing and for whom. We pay for them.
