Again, I totally agree with Ian Judge's comments regarding hunting with hounds. However, Ralph Leavis, not for the first time, left me feeling a mixture of anger and disbelief (Oxford Mail, November 19).
Yes, it is in a fox's nature to kill, but unless Mr Leavis is a fox or can get inside a fox's mind, he cannot prove that a fox actually "derives pleasure from tormenting to death sheep and poultry".
Hunting is not, as he says, giving foxes "a dose of their own medicine".
Human beings should know better. Hunting animals to their deaths is a sick, so-called 'sport'.
People derive pleasure from tormenting to death foxes and other animals.
And no, I don't need to get inside these cowardly bullies' heads to see they enjoy torturing and killing animals, as it can be seen in their faces.
Mr Judge has no apologies to make whatsoever. His comments on hunting hit the nail on the head, whereas Mr Leavis's remarks simply leave me shaking my head.
