Carterton Tn 3, Highfield OB 1
Carterton got an early wake-up call in Saturday's second-round tie, but recovered to see off Senior League side Highfield at Kilkenny Lane.
The visitors caught Carterton cold in the very first minute as a static defence allowed Donaldson to strike the ball home.
But Carterton soon stamped their authority on the game and were level after five minutes thanks to a low drive from Glen Cox.
Two further goals before the break ended Highfield's brave resistance.
On 22 minutes, Kenny Clarke made the opening for Kevin Lewis to score his 11th goal of the season.
And eight minutes later, Matt Allen carved his way through the Highfield defence to set up Clarke, who netted with a looping header.
The second half saw the home side miss a host of chances.
On 65 minutes, Clarke put Hamill through, but he was brought down by Highfield goalkeeper Cook, who was sent off.
Centre forward Beard took over the jersey and then saved the resulting spot-kick from James Mortimer-Jones.
