Thames Valley Police are to receive almost £500,000 to improve police stations.
The Home Office has said £254,000 should go towards a new police station for Henley.
Thames Valley Police Authority has already allocated £464,000 in its budget for the scheme in the town centre.
Another £245,000 of Government money will pay for improvements to other police stations in the area.
Terri Teasdale, director of personnel, finance and services for the force, said: "We are delighted with these grants, which will enable us to make improvements to Henley police station and to station front counters around the area."
Home Office minister John Denham said: "The Government is serious about tackling crime and we do not believe it is reasonable to expect officers and support staff to provide the highest standards of service in police stations that are physically run-down and ill-equipped."
