A new managing director has been appointed at the Mini plant in Cowley by parent company BMW.
Dr Anton Heiss will replace Dr Herbert Diess who has been in charge of the plant since May 2000, during which time he has overseen the launch of the new Mini.
Dr Diess will move to Munich where he will head up BMW's motorcycle division.
Dr Heiss has worked with BMW since 1988, with his previous roles including head of final assembly at the Regensburg plant when he also supported the production preparation for the Rover 75 at Cowley.
Most recently he was head of product and investment control.
Dr Heiss said: "I am looking forward to joining the team and continuing to build on the successes Mini has achieved since its launch."
Dr Heiss will take up his new role on February 1 next year.
